Imperial Hotel
One of the many hotels on Hayarkon Street, which parallels the beach, the Imperial is one of the better values in its class. The decor is modern and tasteful. Hotel Nes Tziona
The name of this hotel means "miracle of Zion." While this may be something of an overstatement, the hotel does offer clean, quality accommodation for those on a budget.Situated in a converted apartment building, the hotel provides a glimpse into a typical Bauhaus style Tel Aviv flat, with patterned tile floors and, attached to most rooms, boxy balconies. With the exception of the cheapest rooms, all have bathrooms with toilets and showers. The hotel is located within walking distance to the beach, and the center of town.

Aviv Hotel
This hotel is located in a weathered Bauhaus style building facing the beach. Its most distinguishing feature is the massive portrait of Pablo Picasso, which advertises the ground floor restaurant and cafe, the stylish Picasso's. The hotel has no lobby, per se. It is accessed through the restaurant. The rooms are very basic but have rooms looking out at the sea. The greatest benefit may be the free breakfast, prepared at Picasso's, a far cry from most hotel provided breakfasts. Also bear in mind if you are after an early night, noisy Picasso's stays open late.

The Gordon Inn
This is a hybrid between a hostel and a hotel. Rooms are offered on a single or group (up to four per room) basis; or, one can get just a bed in a group room. The feel of the place is more traveler oriented. However, relative to most hostels, the Gordon Inn is clean, quiet and professional. The best feature is the cafe/pub. It feels like a real bar, with pool table, a crowd and wooden tables. This is also where the one computer with internet access is located.

Noa Hostel
For those who feel more comfortable in an environment with a minimum of local flavor, the Noa will appeal. There is scarcely an Israeli to be found on the premises, even behind the desk, while young backpackers hang out watching MTV. This is one of several hostels along Ben Yehuda Street. Relatively speaking, it is clean and well renovated. There is a lounge with a TV, a pool table, and a kitchen. Dorm rooms have six to eight beds; a couple of private rooms are available. There are also several computers with Internet access.

Hotel Galim
The name of this hotel, Galim (waves), refers to the fact that it is a two minute walk from the beach. With this in mind, the less savoury aspects of this budget hotel can easily be countenanced. It is located on the funky, tourist-oriented stretch of Allenby, and the walls don't provide much of a buffer against the street noise. However, the place is well-kept, and there's a kitchen on the premises. The management is professional, though their English is poor; they also speak Spanish, French and German. The Gordon Inn
Probably most famous for its eyecatching interior and exterior, painted by a former resident of the hostel, the Gordon is well known on the backpacker circuit. It cannot be missed when walking down Hayarkon because of its blue and yellow façade depicting domes, butterflies and Masai warriors (among other details). This is a party hostel wiith a bar at street level, a summer roof bar and beer on tap. Despite the fantastic paintwork, the hostel is a little worn and grubbby around the edges. This is a large, several storey-high hotel, located in the north-central part of town, which puts it at a distance from the unsavory, touristy area, yet still close to the beach. The lobby is large and formal with a lounge and dining area (for the complimentary breakfast), creating the impression of a fancy hotel. The rooms are nice, but essentially simple, with TV with cable, telephones and full bathrooms. They tend to be on the small side; some have views of the sea.
